PIANO LESSONS

Our new intern, Anne, is a classical pianist and has offered to teach piano lessons to any three interested students. She will teach at the educational building on  Thursdays, between 3:45 and 5:45.  Lessons will be 30 minutes long and there will be no charge.  If you are interested in taking advantage of this great offer, please let Anne or Carol know.  There is one spot left.

CASSEROLE DISHES AND BREAD PANS

There are quite a few casserole dishes and bread pans still left from the Welcome Barbeque!  We are storing them on the third floor, but when space is needed they will be donated to a recycle shop.  If one of them is yours, please come and claim it!  Thank you!  And thank you for the goodies that came in them!!

ディボーション

今週末は第一サムエル記22章を読んで来てください。

ピアノ講座

新しく来て下さった、アンさんはクラッシックのピアニストで、三人の興味のある子ども達にピアノを教えてくれる事になりました。毎週木曜日の３：４５分から５：４５分までの間、一人３０分の個人授業をして下さいます。レッスンは無料で、教育館で行われます。もし、興味のある方がいらっしゃいましたら、アンもしくはキャロルまでお知らせください。後一人分だけ空きがあります。

キャセロール容器とパン焼き容器

ウェルカムバックバーベキューの時の料理を入れた容器がまだ学校に残っています。今の所は三階で保管されていますが、場所が足りなくなって来ましたらリサイクルショップに寄付されます。もし心当たりがありましたら学校に取りに来て下さい。ありがとうございます。中に入っていた物もおいしく頂きました。

DEVOTIONS

This fall, Eric Noll will be doing Tuesday devotions on the life of David.  We would like to request that each weekend you and/or your child read portions of scripture to prepare.  This weekend, please read 1 Samuel 20.

BOOKS, BOOKS, AND MORE BOOKS

Please search your houses, cars, backpacks for any CCSI books you may have taken home.  We are missing several copies of books which we need.  Every year it costs CCSI so much money to replace books which were never returned. Please return any that you have.

CPI

The bi-annual gathering of country-wide church planters, pastors, and others (Church Planting Institute) will be held November 12-14 in Hakone.  Since this will be during CCSI Fall Break, we would like to encourage families to attend, as well as ask any students, 14 and older, to help with the children’s program.  We particularly need translators (Japanese, English, Korean).  Some scholarships are available, but will be taken soon. Please let Carol know soon if you are interested.

LOST!

The charger cords for the school iPads are missing!  Perhaps someone mistakingly thought one was his/hers.    Please check to see if you have duplicates at home and return them to the school.  We will henceforth label them!

SPORTS DAY

Warm up your muscles for a full morning of FUN!!  Please see the attached team rosters and color themes for each group.  Please dress accordingly...the wackier, the better!  Please come at 9:30 am Saturday, Honda Chapel grounds (inside, if raining), and bring lunch to enjoy together.

CPI

二年に一度開催される教会開拓に関わる人たちが全国規模で集まるイベントCPI（チャーチプランティングインスティテゥート）が11月12日から14日まで箱根で開催されます。CCSIの秋休み中に行われるので皆様ぜひご参加ください。また、14歳以上の生徒は子どもプログラムの手伝いもお願いしたいと思っております。特に日本語、英語、韓国語等の通訳をして下さる生徒を募集しております。プログラムを手伝ってくれる生徒達の参加費の援助もありますが、限りがありますので出来るだけ早くキャロル校長までお知らせ下さい。

行方不明！

学校のiPadの充電器が行方不明になっています。生徒の誰かが自分のと間違えて持って返ってしまった可能性があります。もしもご家庭に身に覚えのない充電器がありましたら、学校に返却ください。

スポーツデー

明日の朝は楽しさ盛りだくさんのスポーツデーです！このニュースレターの裏についているチームの振り分け表と、チームのカラーテーマを確認して下さい。

着てくる衣装は面白ければ面白い程楽しくなります！

明日、土曜日９：３０分に誉田チャペルのグラウンドにお集まり下さい。雨天の場合は誉田チャペルの中で開催します。お昼ご飯はお弁当を持ち寄って、皆さんで食べましょう。

TIGHTENING OUR BELTS

Both the E- track and J-track budgets will be strained this year due to a major change in curriculum (more about this at the Welcome Back BBQ).  One way we can all help is to provide some of the supplies which we all consume daily, like toilet paper and tissue.

We are asking for each family to please bring in one pack of toilet paper (single sheet, 8 rolls minimum), and one pack of box tissue (5 boxes minimum) for the year.

WELCOME BACK BARBEQUE

Tomorrow, 9/7/2013, at 5:00 pm, we will be celebrating the start of the fall semester.  The dinner will be followed by a brief Community Meeting from 6:15-6:45.  Please come and bring a dish to share, according to the first letter of your last name.  Meat will be provided by the school, however, we would like to request that each person contribute 100 yen toward the cost, in an effort to keep our operating expenses lower.  Thanks and see you tomorrow.

REMINDERS

Please see the attached sheet of “reminders” about school rules and policies.  Please read this together with your children and discuss the “spirit” as well as the “letter” of the law!

In addition we would like to ask that parents help students keep their fingernails trimmed and clean.  It is easy, during PE, and normal play, for long nails to cause injury to other children.

NEW INTERNS, NEW STUDENTS

Please take time to welcome the new interns for the year:  Shelby Gibbs (until February), Rachel Turner (until May), and Meredith Mansfield (until April).  In addition, Taylor Stoddard, Stephen Bond, and Seth Iverson are teaching in the E-track.  Two more interns are expected in October.

Welcome back Eric Noll to our staff after 4 years!

We are so grateful for their volunteering to love and teach our CCSI children!!!

We also welcome Subaru and the Nara family into our community this fall, as well as Noa and Martha Noll, whose family will be in Japan for at least 3 months.

今年はカリキュラムの大きな変化があり、英語部、日本語部共に予算が圧迫しています。(詳細はBBQにて）私たち全員が、毎日使うトイレットペーパーやティッシュなどの日用品を少しずつ持ち寄ることが一つの助けになります。

一年間に各家庭、トイレットペーパー１パック(シングル、最低８ロール）とティッシュボックス１パック(最低５箱）を持ってきてくださるようお願いいたします。

WELCOME BACK BARBEQUE

明日９月７日５時から、秋学期の始まりを共にお祝いしましょう。その後６：１５－６：４５まで、短いコミュニティーミーティングがあります。名字が始まるアルファベットに応じて一品持ち寄りください。お肉は学校が提供しますが、出費を抑えるために、一人１００円お支払いください。ありがとうざいます。また明日あいましょう。

新しいインターン、新入生

今年入った新しいインターンたちをぜひ時間をとって歓迎してください。シェルビー・ギブズ（２月まで）、レイチェル・ターナー（５月まで）、メレディス・マンズフィールド（４月まで）。またテイラー・ストダード、ステファン・ボンド、セツ・アイバーソンは英語部で教えてくださいます。１０月にあと二人のインターンが来る予定です。エリック・ノール先生４年ぶりにおかえりなさい！

彼らがCCSIの生徒たちを愛し教えてくれることにとても感謝しています。

CLEANING DAY

We have rescheduled the cleaning day for June 22, 8am-12 noon.  Anyone who would be willing to help do the end of the year cleaning, please come!!  Thanks!

THE TALENT SHOW

The Talent Show will be tomorrow, from 5 to 7pm.  We will be serving light snacks and drinks following the show.    Please bring store-bought snacks to share with our guests.  (Everything will be served on a napkin).

Please see the attached note for the line-up of the acts.  Anyone who wishes to practice before the program will be able to from 2pm to 4pm.

Please be at the school no later than 4:30 if you need to set up any props.

SUMMER STUDY

We have been blessed with six very willing and capable MTW Summer Interns this year: Natalie, Martha, Bri, Rebekah, Anna and AJ.  They are very willing to do English tutoring this summer, several days per week, 2-3 hours a day, for free.

We will be sending out a schedule next week.

SPIRIT WEEK

Keisuke Idota and the summer interns have planned a fun-filled, spiritual emphasis week for CCSI, next week, June 18-20.  Please see the attached note for information about costumes, memory verses, and each day’s special events.

OUR LAST SUPPER

The J-track mom’s have graciously offered to provide lunch for the students on Thursday, June 20 (last day of school).  Their only request is that each students bring 1 cup of rice for the pot.  Thanks!

夏の英語教室

今年の夏は6人のインターンに恵まれました。ナタリー、マーサ、ブリ、レベッカ、アナ、AJの６人が夏にお子さんのために英語教室を行ってくれるそうです。一週間に数日、収集間にわたり、２時間から３時間、無料でレッスンを行ってくれるそうです。

スピリットウィーク

井戸田けいすけさんと、夏のインターン達が楽しいスピリチュアルウィークのスケジュールを立ててくれました。６／１８から２０日です。コスチューム、暗唱成句、毎日のイベントなどの詳細を添付してりますので、ご覧ください。

最後の晩餐？（おひるごはん）

日本語部のお母さん方が学校最後の日、6月２０日にお昼ご飯を作ってくれるそうです。各生徒一カップずつお米を持たせて下さい。ありがとうございます。

SAYONARA

Next Wednesday, 6/12, we will be saying farewell to Tara, leaving 6/13, and Melanie, leaving 6/26.  We will have a potluck meal from 5pm.  Japanese food is especially appreciated, yakisoba with CORN, the best!

SUMMER STUDY

タラとメラニーのためのさよならパーティーが来週の水曜日、6月の12日午後５時から行われます。タラは6月の13日、メラニーは6月の２６日に帰国します。日本食などを作って来て下さるご家族がいらっしゃいましたら、お願いします。メラニーの大好物のコーンの入っている焼きそば等。

夏の英語教室

今年の夏は6人のインターンに恵まれました。ナタリー、マーサ、ブリ、レベッカ、アナ、AJの六人が夏にお子さんのために英語教室を行ってくれるそうです。何週間かの間、一週間のうち何日かを使って、２時間から３時間の教室を行ってくれるそうです。教室は無料です。

お子さんの英語能力を上達させるためのいい機会だと思っています。興味のある方、詳しいスケジュールのお問い合わせはキャロル、もしくはリンダにお願いします。

BAZAAR

This year’s Bazaar is scheduled for Saturday, June 8.  Proceeds will go toward the CCSI J-Track. Originally we were planning to accept donations until June 7, but we now have so many that we will not be accepting any more.  Thank you so much for your understanding. 

GRADUATION

This year’s E-Track Graduation will be held on Sunday evening (5-7pm), June 9.  Please note that this is the day following the Bazaar; however, it will be planned and executed by the four graduating seniors’ parents, so that other parents may participate in the Bazaar.

CLEANING DAY

Today Fri.(5/31) and tomorrow (6/1) the Chia Convention will be held at the Tokyo Olympic Center. Also tomorrow (6/1) a workshop entitled “Healing Path” will be held at Honda Chapel from 10am to 3pm. To enable you to attend one or both events, we have cancelled Parent Cleaning Day on June 1. Please consider attending!

今年のバザーは６月８日（土）の予定です。このバザーで得た利益はCCSIのJトラックへいきます。６月７日までリサイクル品を募集していましたが、たくさんのリサイクル品が集まったため、募集を終了させていただきます。ありがとうございました。

卒業式

今年のEトラックの卒業式は６月９日（日）夕方５時から７時まです。バザーの翌日です。卒業式は４人の卒業生の両親が計画、遂行いたしますので他の方はバザーの準備にご参加下さい。

清掃日

5/31金曜日、6/1土曜日と国立オリンピック記念青少年総合センターにてチアコンベンションがあります。また誉田チャペルにて回復への道バイリンガルワークショップが１０時からあり、清掃日を延期することになりました。良い機会ですので、皆様ぜひご参加ください。

CLEANING DAY

Next Fri.(5/31) and Sat (6/1) the Chia Convention will be held at the Tokyo Olympic Center. Also on Sat (6/1) a workshop entitled “Healing Path” will be held at Honda Chapel from 10am to 3pm. To enable you to attend one or both events, we have cancelled Parent Cleaning Day on June 1. (Note: if you take your children to the Chia convention on Friday, they will not be marked absent from school.  So please consider attending!)

卒業式

今年のEトラックの卒業式は６月９日（日）夕方５時から７時まです。バザーの翌日です。卒業式は４人の卒業生の両親が計画、遂行いたしますので他の方はバザーの準備にご参加下さい。

清掃日

5/31金曜日、6/1土曜日と国立オリンピック記念青少年総合センターにてチアコンベンションがあります。また誉田チャペルにて回復への道バイリンガルワークショップが１０時からあり、清掃日を延期することになりました。金曜日にチアコンベンションに生徒が参加される場合、学校では出席扱いになります。良い機会ですので、皆様ぜひご参加ください。

DEVOTION SCHEDULE

Please prepare a 5-8 minute devotional focused on God’s Word for our morning devotions on Tuesdays, 8:25-8:55.  Please change with someone else if it is inconvenient for you on that day.   Thank you!

NARNIA

The junior and senior high school students will be performing “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” on May 10 and 11 at Honda Chapel.  We are planning evening performances (7-9), in English, with a Japanese summary in the program, and a short explanation at the end of the allegory to the gospel.  Please pray that this will be a good outreach to the community.  

A schedule for practices and line memorization deadlines has been handed to your child.  Please help them to learn their lines!

We will be serving baked goods at the intermission.  If you are able to, please make something to offer the guests (cookies, cake, cupcakes, etc.)

WE ARE DESPERATELY IN NEED OF HELP with costumes, sets, etc.  Also, your child has been given a list of items to buy or make for his/her costume.  These items are now past due, so PLEASE assemble them and bring them to school ASAP.  Anyone who can and is willing to help with any aspect of the sets, costumes, lighting, audio, advertisement, set up, etc., please let Carol know as soon as possible... we need HELP!!

BAZAAR

This year’s Bazaar is scheduled for Saturday, June 8.  Proceeds will go toward CCSI, J-Track. Bring only the following things.  They should be new or gently used:

Children’s clothing, from babies to 160 cm. Old clothing

Electric Appliances (that look “new”)

Toys, Miscellaneous goods

Books, CDs, DVDs

We are collecting these at school from May 7 - June 7.

GRADUATION

This year’s E-Track Graduation will be held on Sunday evening (5-7pm), June 9.  Please note that this is the day following the Bazaar; however, it will be planned and executed by the four graduating seniors’ parents, so that other parents may participate in the Bazaar.

ナルニアの劇

中高生達が5月１0-11日に誉田チャペルで「ナルニア国物語　ライオンと魔女」の劇を行いたいと思います。上演時間は夜の７時から９時の予定です。劇は英語ですが日本語の説明がプログラムに記載されます。また劇の最後にこの物語と福音との共通点についての説明もあります。この劇が福音を伝える良い機会となるようお祈り下さい。

台詞の締め切りとこれからの上演までのスケジュール表を生徒に渡

しました。お子さんが台詞を覚える手助けをしてください！

休憩時間に焼き菓子を出そうと思います。もし可能であればお客様のために何か焼いて持って来て下さい。（クッキー、ケーキ、カップケーキなど）

セットと衣装作りの手伝いをして下さる方が必要です。また、各生徒に劇で使うもののリストを渡してあります。締め切りは過ぎてますので、至急ご用意し持たせて下さい。どのような形でも劇の準備に関わって下さる方がいましたら、キャロル校長に大至急お伝え下さい。助けが必要です！
